ASObject and ASTranslator

Hello Experts,

I'm trying to upload and export some bitmap data from flash to a simple Java
class (and/or servlet if need be).  when i was implementing openamf
incorrectly using a class that extended the HttpServlet interface i
inadvertently called the service function...which wasn't quite what i wanted
but one of the parameters is a ServletRequest object and the other is a
ServletResponse Object.

 In order to do the file upload i'm using the commons.io library which works
fine, but needs a ServletRequest reference which i don't have now that i'm
using the simplified class.  Does anyone know of a way to get the request
object since now the service function isn't being called.

In order to do the export i'm going to use the ASObject and ASTranslator
classes...can anyone point me to some examples of it being used in this
context??
