Just when I think I've started to learn everything about the JVM,
someone posts some strange esoteric JVM switch... I've never even seen
those before. More details about what they do here:

I also don't know jack about crap about Windows, but if someone said
they were having this problem on Linux/OSX, I would say they need to
monitor class compilations and file descriptor limits. VisualVM has
the ability to monitor class compilations, I would take a peek at that
too.
