how to stop openjms server??

  
Hello all
I am using openjms server version 0.7.6 on linux machine.
to start server just say 
openjms.sh start    it starts server successfully on same terminal

but if we try to stop this from another terminal using 
openjms.sh stop commond it hangs and after some time(7 -10 sec)
throws error connection reset.

if any one knows abt this case why it is happening 
please help me asap
