RE: Lost Connection Error

I was unable to get any log output from those items. I assume that they
were possibly not being used.
I was using the rmi connections, but now have migrated to tcp, which seems
to have fixed the issue.

That said, to work out what my configuration needed to be I created some
test cases, and found out that when accessing the JMS services that some
background threads are spawned, with no obvious way to stop them.

I am deploying a tomcat app that will be re-deployed many times during
development, and we would like a way to stop these threads.

There were 4 I can remember, one called Clock Daemon, one called
ManagedConnectionReaper1 and the other 2 were a client Worker-1 and
Multiplexer threads. I am closing all sessions, queues and topics, but
these threads are still running.

Any ideas on how to stop them programatically?? Or even some detail on what
they are and if they are needed or can be configured not to run?

Steve

The client is failing to ping the server.

To help diagnose why, configure log4j in your client to log:

  <category
name="org.exolab.jms.net.multiplexer.MultiplexedManagedConnection"
additivity="false">
    <priority value="DEBUG"/>
    <appender-ref ref="STDOUT"/>
    <appender-ref ref="openjms"/>
  </category>

  <category name="org.exolab.jms.net.multiplexer.DefaultConnectionPool"
additivity="false">
    <priority value="DEBUG"/>
    <appender-ref ref="STDOUT"/>
    <appender-ref ref="openjms"/>
  </category>

See http://openjms.sourceforge.net/faq.html#logging-log4j-client for
instructions on configuring log4j in your client.
