exiting a JMS application without calling System.exit()

Hi,

I've written a JMS client application that creates a separate listening thread
to listen for messages.  I've noticed that in order for the application to
successfully terminate, I have to explicitly call System.exit().

I've made sure that my listening thread has been terminated, and my session,
connection, context has been closed.

It seems that the call to create an InitialContext maintains a thread/connection
to the JMS connection that is not terminated unless System.exit() is called.

Does anybody know if this is the case ?
