onMessage method synchronized

Hi. I have a messageListener which must receive messages from a topic in a syncronized way, that it: jms provider must deliver a message to my subscriber only if the subscriber has returned from a previous onMessage() call. Is it possibile to configure this behaviour at the openjsm provider level in its config file ? Do you see any problem in simply synchronizing the onMessage method ?
