ClassCastException

I keep getting a ClassCastException when starting up my openjms client.  I get a "null" message from the following lookup:
   
  Topic jmsTopic = (Topic) getContext().lookup(topicName);
   
  I have the appropriate client jars as suggested on the web site.  Are there any others I might need?  Thanks very much for your help.
