If you're getting a class cast exception, it typically not related to
missing jars.
What do you get when you run:
     Object object =  getContext().lookup(topicName);
     if (object != null) {
         System.out.println("Got instance: " + object.getClass().getName());
     }

Subject: [openjms-user] ClassCastException

I keep getting a ClassCastException when starting up my openjms client. I
get a "null" message from the following lookup:

Topic jmsTopic = (Topic) getContext().lookup(topicName);

I have the appropriate client jars as suggested on the web site. Are there
any others I might need? Thanks very much for your help.

Justin
