SimpleORM and RoR

The basic question is does anybody have experaince using JRuby on Rails with SimpleORM?

I have been using Simple ORM for about a year and it is wonderful.  The system I have built consists of a bunch of java backend apps and a swing GUI.  There is now interest is doing stuff on the web. 

I have not done web development in over 10 years and much has changed.  There are a ton of java web frameworks and I was thinking of taking advantage of some of this new technology.  Based on my web research, I am thinking of using JRuby on Rails.  (I like Stripes, but it seems to be dying.)

From what I see, JRuby uses active record for its IO, and I want to use Simple ORM because that is what all my POJO are using.   I know I can access Simple ORM and all my java objects  within JRuby,  But how tied up is JRuby with active record and how much will I be losing by using Simple ORM?
