Local and remote

normally we use remote to open database

ExternalDatabase.openDatabase("ozonedb:remote://localhost:3333")

I don't know which case that we need local

ExternalDatabase db = 
ExternalDatabase.openDatabase("ozonedb:local://dbDir")

is it faster than remote?
