You have probably already succeded, but did not know you have. 'Installing' ozone is as simple as unzipping the ozone-1.2-bin.zip (or .tar.gz). If you run ozone -c -dc:\temp\testdb from <ozone-dir>\bin and you see the server starting up, then all is up to par. From there you can develop you application; be sure to include the right jar files from <ozone-dir>\lib in the classpath.
