Ozone Collection class serialization

Hi,
 I am using Ozone-1.2 collection class 'FullTreeMap'
for storing a collection of more than 100 elements.
But while retrieving only one particular element from
the collection using a 'key', I noticed that it is
reading/deserializing all the other elements.
Similar thing happened while adding a new element in
to the collection - serializing all the elements. 

But I noticed that if the elements inside the
collection itself is an OzoneObject, 'onPassivate()'
or 'onActivate()' method is called for the particular
element only. 


Is it the expected behaviour of the 'FullTreeMap' ?
