Well, looking at your changes it seems that:
  - no need for ConfigParameter anymore. 
  - no need for special adapter anymore 
( because conversion logic is in basic component
adapter now )

Well, in this case basic component adapter also
becomes obsolete... 

So, we can just merge all the conversion stuff into
component parameter, and enooy new functionality.
