Well, I think part of it is more along the lines of "What is it going to be used
for?"  If serialization performance after redeploys is critical, then we need
it.  

There had been a lot of addition of SerialVersionUIDs to Pico-Core, which is why
I was propagating them to Pico-Gems.  But I'm fine either way with removing them
as well.
