Hi Mike, what's the added benefit?  I assume you're after an updated 
transitive dependency.  But the default transitive dependencies can be 
easily upgraded when declaring the dependency in the pom.

I mean, the whole point of having different lifecycles of release was to 
not have to release the whole stack of components upon a change in the 
upstream dependency (e.g. Pico core) unless there was some new 
functionality in the downstream as well (e.g. Pico script).

Or am I misunderstanding your use case?
