Only because I work in pretty much the same fashion as you will I look
at the patch. What I see is good but I'm not looking to be productive
per se I'm looking to ensure architectural integrity as much as there
may appear to be little.

You'll have to give me some time as I will just work with new and old
tree side by side. I'll apply the whole patch in one tree and work from
that.

I do appreciate your efforts but I won't accept another patch like that.
But karma will get you. You more than likely get commit privs in the
near future and then another Bert will come along and you'll get to
integrate that patch ;-)
