Re: Running robocode from the web

You are right. The Codefest (http://www.itbhu.ac.in/codefest/) did have a competition last year (2011) with their own variant of Robocode that includes obstacles on the battle field, and their own system for uploading .jar files (robot packages) to their web-site.

This is not a part of the main branch of Robocode, even though it would be great to have new features like obstacles on the battle fields etc.

It might be possible to get the source code from Codefest to continue the code. Perhaps it would also make sense to integrate into the main branch of Robocode. But it might require some work to take other features of Robocode into account. Codefest was running a special type of competition, where the standard Robocode is typically used with the RoboRumble, where robots gets ranked all the time, and where participants put a link to their robot on a participant page instead of uploading the robots.
