RobotCode Question for beginner

Hello I am searching all over the place for an answer but I cant find one, 
maybe someone here can help me out. I am in a competition among other 
students in my class competing for grades and i would like to build a 
circling bot. Only problem is we are not allowed to use the advanced Robot 
and from my research that is what everyone uses. So my question is, is it 
possible to build this robot by only using the extends robot only? If this 
is not possible can someone recommend a robot that can stay within a sentry 
border of 300 and can avoid ramfire bots (which is what everyone is mainly 
using) and there is also one sentry bot in the arena. Thanks in advanced
