Hi all,

after the 1.0.22 release branch has been living for a quite while and
we/Johannes have put a lot of work in making it (even more) stable and
ready for rollout over the last year, we like to get a release done.
From our point of view it is ready for production. Still there are some
things to do on our list - and maybe others someone else thinks of need
to be addressed. So feel free to feed back - quick ;-)

* [Open Defects for 0.22] Issues: There are currently 31 issues, of
which 9 are Unconfirmed, 13 Fixed and 1 WorksForMe. The remaining ones I
don't consider release relevant - though, yes, in an ideal world they
all would be adressed.
* The documentation is reworked/updated already and will be commited
shortly.
* Internationalization and localization may be reviewed/contributed if
there is demand. The status didn't changed much related to the previous
release. Minor fixes/additions/enhancements for German.
* Databases: The release will incorporate some schema modifications. The
according scripts for MySQL are all available (update) and up to date
(new DB). All other DBMS, namely Oracle, Hypersonic and Postgres, are
not working for now and even the effort for setting up the test
environments and performing the according test is currently beyond our
available time. Nevertheless I would appreciate any contributions here
and will keep this on the schedule for the future.
* We will perform build/setup and update tests in the next weeks, update
the 0.22 issues status in the course, prepare and propose release notes
and after that - if all agree - going to publish the new release.

Another reason to get the release out is, that mainly Hussayn - as far
as my memory serves me right - has put quite a lot of effort in new and
enhanced trunk features, and thus we should avoid the trunk getting to
far from the branch. And it would be nice to have them in a
not-to-far-future release too.

So, if there are no objections, we will proceed as described.

Feedback welcome!

Frank
