Scarab is in the 'stable' part of the lifecycle of the projects. It's an
active project, though it hasn't a great development activity lately (mainly
because it works quite good for our purposes). It's supported fully by
volunteers, so it has no dedicated developers (except ocassionally when some
of us have get paid to complete some feature needed in our own
projects/clientes that has then go into the open).

The decission will be up to you, anyway. My impression is that Scarab is
alive, though it goes through cycles mostly driven by needs and availaible
development time.
