Maybe this is something similar to what i am currently thinking about ... This is what i have in mind: I want to add a new checkmark to the attribute definition. If checked, a small icon (red question mark?) is rendered near to the field-label. If the icon is clicked, a popup opens showing the "Description" of the attribute. The popup disappears either when the mouse is moved out of the popup area, or when the popup is clicked. The default behaviour is: "do not show informative popups", so it does not "break the scarab standards" ... I would allow HTML-syntax in the Description field so that you are free to fully style the content of the popup windows. I also would allow i18n entries in the description field, so that in principle the popup could be multi language, although this would need a little more thinking beforehand, since it involves user generated multilingual text which is currently only supported in a static way (using resource files) but here we would like to be able to define multilingual texts from the Scarab-GUI and directly use them... Could be some fancy gimick... or could break our neck ... (opinions around ?) I am about to start some work in this direction in the next days. Implementing it will be very straight forward and should be flexible enough to be usefull for many use cases. Note: This idea only applies to user attributes. What do you think about it ? additions, complains other directions ? regards, hussayn -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Pop-up-window-on-field-tp21993723p22235307.html Sent from the Scarab - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ------------------------------------------------------ http://scarab.tigris.org/ds/viewMessage.do?dsForumId=456&dsMessageId=1235539 To unsubscribe from this discussion, e-mail: [[email protected]].
