Attributes garbled (Hex Strings) in queries

Mostly things went= fine, except for the queries.... All queries show custom attributes as hex strings, eg "\x352e3020524332". W= hen you select the issue and view it, the data is all good. The issue ID, C= reated by, Modified by, Creation Date and Last Change date also seem to be = OK? What sort of things should II be looking at ?
