suport maven as alternative build system

I've submited a patch as enhancement bug to support maven as a build 
process. I've also migrated doc to xdoc so it can be merged into maven 
"site" (documentation + project build reports)

I'd like to contribute to securityfilter by refactoring doFilter method 
into multiple methods, so it can be easily extended by users, for 
example to add a custom pre/post processing (for logging purpose, or to 
do custom post-authentication logic).

Do you have any suggestion / constraints to expose ?
