The problem is that we have some modifications to psyntax, mostly for hooking into source tracking and replacing some of the symbol generation code. Once those modifications are ported over to the .ss file, the file is expanded using sc-expand or expand-file, passing '(e) '(e) (eg for evaluation) as the arguments to produce the .pp file. With luck this bootstraps the heap fine. Usually though this is an iterative process until it works properly and passes all the tests. This weekend I'll see if I can't get it bootstrapped with the latest version and integrate it into 1.16.7, as well as send it to you so you can use it immediately.
