If maxStackTraceDepth could be configured via the
AppContext properties, it would be nice...

It looks to me as if the best bet, for now, is to
patch my private SISC copy as follows: 

* add a singleton SISCProperties class with
setters/getters

* make SISC read SISCProperties instead of system
properties in Util.java

Thanks for clarifying. In a servlet environment,
though, one never knows the thread genealogy. So I'd
have to set the dynamic parameter in every thread
(i.e. in every servlet's service method). How would I
do that, before calling into SISC? Sorry, I'm
confused.
