Lightweight threading options?

Howdy All,

I may be tackling a project which would benefit from an
Erlang/Termite<http://toute.ca/>approach to
multi-threading/processing.  I'm curious if I could make use of
SISC threads to create the same kind of architecture. I suppose it all boils
down to one key question - how lightweight are SISC threads?  Are they just
a wrapper around Java Threads?  Any suggestions for how I might craft an
Erlang/Termite architecture using SISC?

I apologize if this is a topic that's either obvious or already been
discussed. My searching of the mail archives didn't turn up what I was
looking for.
