Java 5 JMX console

Java1.5 has built in JMX support, and a nice little app to view it.

1. add this to the command line options of a daemon:
-Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote

2. run "jconsole" and pick the daemon you just started.

3. observe things like which threads are waiting where, memory usage,
all JMX objects in the system, etc.

There is a full remote mode on a network port, but the security options
are complex, and Antonio probably doesn't approve :)
