SF logging issues

I configured SmartFrog (SmartFrog.3.06.016rc2 release) to log to 
/var/log/smartfrog.log using 
org.smartfrog.sfcore.logging.LogImpl.localLoggerClass=org.smartfrog.sfcore.logging.LogToFileImpl

furthemore I redirect out/err messages:
org.smartfrog.sfcore.logging.LogToFileImpl.redirectSystemOutputs=true

I notice that the file /var/log/smartfrog.log is created every time 
sfDaemon is started. It would be good to have the possibility to append to 
this file in case it already exists.
The err/out messages are written to the file /var/log/smartfrog.out. Is it 
possible to write out/err also to smartfrog.log ?
