Replace instances of Throwable.printstacktrace() with output to the local log
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: SFOS-22
URL: http://jira.smartfrog.org/jira/browse/SFOS-22
Project: SmartFrog
Issue Type: Improvement
Reporter: Steve Loughran
Assigned To: Julio Guijarro
I think we ought to find those places that go Throwable.printStackTrace() and print out to the SFLog().
If you look at the usages of the method, there are a lot of them, both in the core and in components. Mostly rarely used exception handling clauses, but with output to System.err and not a log we are capturing, diagnostics may be lost.
Place where it should stay are
-the logging code itself
-anything that is handling exceptions raised during logging. I think there a single stack SFLog.logExceptionDuringLogging() method would give us one place to control/breakpoint behaviour.
