Found the offending code in
DefaultRootLocator.setRootProcessCompound().  This problem is caused
by a limitation in the default implementation of
RMIServerSocketFactory.  I found the following link that shows a
possible solution.

I have some other more pressing matters, but I might try to create a
patch based on this as it would certainly be very useful for my
testing.
