I've refactored the LoggerStore implementations to accept configuration-specific objects. For Log4j it accepts Properties, Element and InputStream, the latter two for XML. You'll notice that the unit test fails on the Element constructor. I still have not fully understood why - I'll post a test case to the log4j list. This was one of the reasons why I chose the InputStream route. Anyway, the factory uses the InputStream constructor atm.
