Body:
Create a MDA project where we can define a domain specific model using a XML dialect. The domain specific model will be transformed into a domain neutral model which will basically have the following structure;
Entity -- contains --> Feature
Feature
|
+--------------+
| |
Simple Complex
(Can contain other features)
Each Domain Specific model has metadata schema associated with it to define the type of features it can take.
From this generic model the artefacts (model classes, peers etc) are generated.

Description:
A useful extension to excalibur/avalon in general would be the integration of a
MDA tolkit.
Essentially such a toolkit would allow you to describe the model of application
using some xml descriptor (possibly raw UML). The toolkit would then read this
and interpret various "tags" and via this mechanism implement various buisness
orientated functionality.
For example one set of tags may indicate the mechanism via which it is persisted to a Database, while another set of tags may indicate how it is replicated across network, while another set may indicate another aspect.
This model then is used to "execute" certain functionality in the system. Either via some generic object system or via code generation (ala torque).
The thread that described it in more detail is at

A bunch of suggestions were made for opensource UML tools to use as a basis in
