intercepting a request during a port forward

I'm trying to do a minor customization to add a custom 
http header to the incoming client request when doing 
port forwarding.  I'm having trouble locating the incoming 
client request in the sshtools code.  I managed to find the 
configured server/port data and the http response from 
the server, but not the incoming http response on the 
client side.  Can anyone tell me what class(es)/method(s) 
to look at to find this?
