sshtools writes a different public key into known_hosts

Hi,
 
 When I connect to my secure server (for secure ftp) using the sshtools API I get the prompt -

"Do you want to allow this host key? [Yes|No|Always]:"

When I enter 'Always', the known_hosts file is created as expected, but the public key written in
to it looks much different from the one I have appended to authorized_keys on my server. Why is
this ? The problem I have with this behaviour is that, in order to avoid the prompt, I append the
public key (I generated with sshtools key-gen) to known_hosts myself and it doesn't work.

could anyone give a clue regarding this ?
