what I meant by that was if the source has a licence header which states LGPL, I'm not totally convinced that you can override that in a LICENCE file, or on sourceforge, or by referencing messages on the forums, what matters (to me), is what licence is actually stated in the source itself, actually, I'm more convinced that the source declaration overrides all others. If Lee (the project owner) wanted to relicence, he _should_ have rewritten all the files affected by the relicencing to reflect this, if he did not, then my intentions would be to follow the source licence and forget about everything else. It's a tricky situation to be in, but without the source to hand, I'm just going to lay my opinion on that out there, I might be of course talking into the wind, because this situation doesnt exist, I'm just going from what Jason said, but if he is wrong, then I'm wrong too and I take back what I said, but if jason's situation does in fact exist, I'd be more inclined to follow this approach. Unless a good reason to follow another is given chris On 6/27/06, Sascha Hunold <[email protected]> wrote: > > Chris Thomas wrote: > > go with the source licence, it's the one which is applied to each file > ACK > > > On 6/27/06, Jason Dillon <[email protected]> wrote: > >> Apache Software > >> License<http://sourceforge.net/softwaremap/trove_list.php?form_cat=296 > >, > >> GNU General Public License > >> (GPL)<http://sourceforge.net/softwaremap/trove_list.php?form_cat=15>, > >> GNU Library or Lesser General Public License > >> (LGPL)<http://sourceforge.net/softwaremap/trove_list.php?form_cat=16> > >> > >> But, the source all states LGPL. > All the files from 0.2.7 are dual licensed (LGPL and Apache style). > > Read 'LICENSE' file. > > And read this as well > http://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3384895 > > Cheers > > Sascha > > > Using Tomcat but need to do more?
