I haven't test it, but do I need only?
 
MenuComponent mc = new MenuComponent(); 
mc.setLocation( /index.jsp?People);
 
Do I write only this code or I have to put the MenuComponent in the sesion or request?

yes, it´s simple. You set the location for an action and in this action you forward to a page, and you can handdle the rest as if you were not using struts menu, I mean, it shouldn´t affect your tiles definition.

Hi, when you instanciate MenuComponent
you can set a location, this can be the action to go after a click.
MenuComponent mc = new MenuComponent(); 
mc.setLocation( /index.jsp?People);
