OK, I just tried that, set the repository in the JSP, and then did:

<menu:useMenuDisplayer name="ListMenu" 
repository="<%=repository.toString()%>">

The repository was correct, but there was an error:

javax.servlet.ServletException: The menu repository could not be found.
...

BTW, I just subscribed for the mailing list :)
