Multiple Menus

Hi guys,

I would like to have multiple menus on the screen at the same time, 
namely a side menu and tabbed top menu - I can get both of these to work 
in isolation of each other but when I import the two css files needed at 
the same time they interfere with each other - my question is how might 
I change one of the menus so it calls different styles ie instead of 
calling

<div id="menu">
<div id="menuDiv"><ul id="menuList">

it might call 

<div id="menu_side">
<div id="menu_sideDiv"><ul id="menuList">

Where is the actual style applied and then converted into html and can I change this? Perhaps this is not the best way to fix this problem!!
