why coolmenu1.jsp does not work if it does not sit directly under struts-menu root

Hi, 
  I download struts_menu.zip and extract it. then 
I copy struts_menu.war into  webapps directory in tomcat. 
start up tomcat and put http://localhost:8080/struts-menu/coolmenu1.jsp into
address bar. it works fine. I see the menu to show up. then I create a
directory whose name is jsp under struts-menu directory, copy coolmenu1.jsp
into jsp directory and put
http://localhost:8080/struts-menu/jsp/coolmenu1.jsp into address bar, but it
does not work. the error message is always as follows: 

error: 'oCMenu' is undefined 
code: 0 

please help
