AW: size of war

Hallo Nitin,

since StrutsCX v.0.9.3 you can set a switch in the strutscx-config.xml
to plug-in or –out FOP. If pluged-out you don't need neither the FOP
user-config.xml nor the FOP relevant JARs.

In addition to that: In my last project I was confronted with the same
situation – my WAR file got too big – so I check my Servlet Container
(Tomcat 4.1.24): It offers the folder for JAR files you may want to
share through all your web-applications (shared/lib). I moved around 60%
of my JARs in this folder – just once. The WAR now contains just a
couple of web-application-dependend JARs:

- commons-beanutils.jar
- commons-digester.jar
- commons-dbcp.jar
- commons-lang.jar
- commons.validator.jar
- struts.jar
- strutscx.jar

Hi,
I am using strutscx and its wokring fine.
But my WEB-INF\lib directory gone up to 7MB because of strutscx.
Surely I don't need FOP and batik that takes up 2.5 MB
and I don't know if strutscx using castor, I am not, so its also
redundant.
 
I am bothered about this fact as this is increasing size of my EAR
and I regularly send updated EAR to my client.
 
Any thoughts and solutions?
