Hi Dudley, You're right. The StrutsCXStandardDocumentBuilder simply sets an error flag with the fieldname into the XML-Output-document. - Check the Struts Validator documentation if there is a way to access the validation (required, mask, etc.) inside the Action so we can put it into i.e. the request. I am getting some action errors through to the debug=xml results. However, all I'm getting back is the field name in action errors tag ************ACTIONERRORS******** <errors> <firstName/> </errors> Is this all we can get through at this stage? I dont know if its a required error or a maxlength or minlength error. Is there something else I need to add somehere? 2 - Also, I have an entry in my validation.xml as follows depends=required, mask, minlength, maxlength as long as the validation fails, all i get is the same key in the action errors. how do u know which validation(required, mask etc) failed, if u only get 1 key, i.e. the field name? thx ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
