Unable to reconnect

To anyone who may advise:
Currently, I am developing a web application running on Jakarta Tomcat containing a page that reads in data from SAP via JCO.
The problem I am facing is that when I try to call JCO.createClient method passing all relevant values, it doesn't seem to proceed with the following statements and there's no exception caught.
In another web server in my development environment, I managed to run the page successfully (connection is established and result is returned). However, whenever I make any modification to the code, Tomcat refreshed to pick up the new code. Thus, I need to relogin to the application. The problem described above is encountered.
Please advise, since it's pretty critical and I don't seem to be able to resolve it. Thanks.
