The JCA 1.0 spec is not entirely clear on this, but NoTransaction
ResourceAdapters should be treated as UnShareable. Since a global
transaction demarcates the sharing boundary and NoTransaction
ResourceAdapters do not participate in the transaction, there is no sharing
boundary defined. This has been clarified in the JCA 1.5 spec.

Hi,

In version 1.0 of the JCA spec, in section 6.9 it talks about Connection
Sharing. It says:
"When multiple connections acquired by a J2EE application use the same
resource manager, containers may attempt to share connections within the
same transaction scope".

In light of this, my question for the group is - could the container
attempt to share connections, within the same transaction scope, if the
transaction-support of the Resource Adapter has been marked as
"NoTransaction"?

Thanks,

Stephen New
