JCA Custom Adapter for SMTP

Hello,

I posted this question to forums.java.sun.com but did not get any replies. 
I am trying to write a JCA custom adapter that makes outbound connection to
an email server using SMTP protocol. 

I have already looked at
http://www.theserverside.com/tt/articles/article.tss?l=J2EE1_4.  However,
the author was showing how to write a JCA adapter for inbound communication
by using JCA 1.5.

I would appreciate if anyone has any working sample code that can share with
me.
