Re: EJB as socket client

This is what specs clearly says

"The EJB architecture allows an enterprise bean instance to be a network
socket client, but it does not
allow it to be a network server. Allowing the instance to become a network
server would conflict with
the basic function of the enterprise bean-- to serve the EJB clients."

Hope this answers your query

Greetings,

EJB specs indicate that EJBs can not manage sockets, e.g. EJB is not
allowed to create socket server or use socket factory. But the spec does
not state explicitely if EJBs can send data to an external socket server.
Can EJBs be socket clients?

Any response will be greatly appreciated.

Cathy Liu
