What's up with Websphere CMP

I've been reading your thread to do with Websphere short comings and Ken
I was wondering what version of Websphere are you using currently?
 Also, have you used other comparable app servers?  If so, have you
found others easier to work with?  Any guidance you can give would be
appreciated.
