How to implement MANDARAX rule engine as an EJB

Hi,
     My name is lakshman.I am currently in a project which is using mandarax as a rule engine.
I wanted to know the following things::
1. In what situations, mandarax in really needed.
    (Will mandarax support update and insert SQL commands?)
2. How can one use mandarax rule engine implemented as an EJB.
