at JavaOne a couple of weeks ago reminded me that we've done
a poor job reporting on our May NYC event. To start rectifying
that... :-) be sure to check out:
============================================================
Jini Technology: An SOA Delivering Java Dynamic Networking
http://www.jini.org/events/0505NYSIG/index.htm
============================================================
There were two parts to the event:
* Part I: A two hour introduction, including: the marketplace,
Jini technology, JavaSpaces technology, and the Jini Community
by Jennifer Kotzen, Brian Murphy, John McClain, and me
* Part II: An Architecture for Service-Oriented Architectures
by Jim Waldo, presented as part of the NY Java SIG meeting
Slides for all the presentations are available on the web site.
Attendance was great, with a majority of developers being fairly
new to Jini and JavaSpaces. Overall, interest seemed very high.
If you're fairly new to Jini and JavaSpaces.. we hope you find
the introductory material interesting and educational. AND, for
everyone, be sure to check out Jim Waldo's great presentation
on SOAs. It rocked.
thanks -Jim
