Hello everyone,

I am again teaching a course on the principles of distributed systems
at Allegheny College.  I thought that other people in the JINI and
JAVASPACES community might be interested in following along with the
course and potentially contributing.

The broad issues examined by the course include communication, naming,
load distribution, synchronization, mutual exclusion, consistency,
replication, and fault tolerance.  If you have ever been interested in
learning about vector time stamps or Ricart and Agrawala's algorithm
for distributed mutual exclusion you might want to tune in from time
to time.

The course will also include special topic areas like data stream
management systems, the testing of concurrent applications,
distributed hash tables, and peer-to-peer systems.  You can learn
