Yes, that was my intent.

Yes I'd assume that.

Unfortunately I have had to move on, and I ripped out the use of notify()
and rolled my own mechanism with read().

I saved a copy of the code at the point where the previous trace was taken.
However the Eclipse install and other tooling keeps evolving too, so it is
not certain how much effort it would be to reconstitute it. I'd have to
make a fresh install of Eclipse, recover the old workspace, and stitch
them together, so I could debug this without interacting with my regular
workspace. I might have to revert my install of Inca X (hopefully not).

How bad do you want it? If you want to come down to my office some
afternoon and work on it here, it might be worthwhile. I would try
[before you come] to get it reconstructed, and then if that works,
you can come down and we'll work on it together.

I think your debugging suggestions made a lot of sense though.
